About Me
Having qualified as a teacher in 2008, I have taught across the entire primary age range. I have spent many years working specifically in Early Years and Key Stage 1, gaining extensive experience in phonics, as well as early reading and writing. I understand how children learn and have seen first-hand the challenges that some face. During my teaching career, I realised that I wanted to learn more strategies to support children who found learning difficult. To develop my knowledge, I trained with the highly-regarded Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity in Farnham and achieved my Level 5 Specialist Teacher and Level 7 Specialist Assessor diplomas.
I believe it is essential to make the assessment process a positive experience. I deliver accurate and professional assessments with care and patience, taking the time to understand each child as an individual. I provide tailored recommendations for both school and home, equipping them with strategies and support that utilise their own unique strengths. By helping each child find the way they learn best, I can empower them to approach new challenges with confidence and self-belief.
I am currently teaching part-time in local schools while also assessing learners. In addition, I provide specialist one-to-one tuition for Key Stages 1, 2, and 3, focusing on each child’s target areas of difficulty. I use multisensory techniques that cater to all learning styles and incorporate the interests of the learner. I truly enjoy working with children and creating lessons that are both fun and engaging. My aim is always to support them as they overcome challenges, build confidence, and discover the joy of learning.
